I had planned to comment on this amusing piece from the New York Times, but Lawrence Reed beat me to the punch. As always, Larry’s take is insightful.

Another interesting aspect of the article is that it demonstrates a pronounced shift in the media narrative. Now that Bush is out and Obama is in, Louisiana is no longer the perpetual victim of federal malevolence and incompetence. The new narrative focuses on the federal government’s generosity with other people’s money and characterizes any resistance to federal spending as political gamesmanship.

Maybe Spike Lee can make another ridiculous film, this time pinning all of Louisiana’s ills on Bobby Jindal. The Times would give it a glowing review.
